In need of a FASHION EXPERT

Ok boys and girls, you heard me correctly, I need a fashion expert. So next weekend I am flying to HARTFORD! My first fashion dilema is what to be wearing when i get off the plane, my friend Joe is picking me up, I have not see him in 6 months, and i've lost about 20 or so pounds since then. I'm not sure what we are doing for the afternoon, he mentioned going swimming somewhere. I will have swimming clothes to change into with me. But what do i wear for when i get off the plane? Also that night I'm meeting up with Flan and her fiance, prolly go out for drinks? not sure exactly... Need something to wear them.

2nd fashion dilema, Saturday is my sister's wedding shower. I have this really cute skirt with a short sweater that looks really good but not sure about the shoes. I have some new shoes i bought to wear for the wedding, but i can't decided if they match the skirt or not.

Obviously you don't know what's in my closet and can't see my clothes, although i could send pics if necessary. But suggestions of the type of outfit that would be appropriate would be helpful.

So if anyone can HELP ME that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ok, let's go. Fashion Afficionado reporting for duty.

Some thoughts:

Plane~

Ensemble 1 - Bouncy black skirt, light shirt either a pink or soft blue matched with some form of light coat; either denim or cotton. Reasons: Bouncy skirt will make you feel confident. Light colors will perk up the skirt and will emphasize you're in style. Light jacket will add a touch of 'tude to the outfit while keepin you warm in air conditioned places, but not be so heavy as to be boiling in the sunshine. complete the look with light colored shades that match the ensemble shirt, making it playful and still mature.

Ensemble 2 - heels, snug jeans, rosey colored shirt scarf around neck. confidence with a sleeker look. shades are always recommended.

Ensemble 3 - chocalate top, halter top prefered; khaki/camel colored pants, sandals/strappy heel sandals. the color combo has a sophisticated edge to it that comes off very naturally and will play off of your lovely chestnut hair.

Wedding Shower -

Sun Dress - something patterny, but not maternal; cute sandals that don't hurt (so you can help them set up or clean up and not be confined to a chair)

--Shoes-- If you're concerned about how a certain pair of shoes will look with an outfit, wear the outfit shopping so you can pair shoes with the outfit and then wear them out of the store and break them in.

For any shopping dilemas I readily and honestly recommend NY&Co. Absolutely fabulous line of clothing season after season.

Thank you sooooo much Greg! You are a Life Saver! I went shopping over the weekend and could not find anything I liked. After your suggestions I went shopping tonight after work and found the perfect chocolate brown shirt to wear with my camel colored pants which i already had great heels to match, actually i bought them to wear in my sister's wedding next month, but they'll be perfect for this weekend. Found the shirt at TJ Max. Next I found the PERFECT SKIRT! IT's BOUNCY and flowy and FUN! It's actually a dark brown but it works. Still looking for the perfect shirt but I think i might have something in my closet that'll work.
Thanks so much for your help.

I would agree with the halter top idea, because they've always looked good on you.

Or an off the shoulder shirt with one of those wife beaters underneath jeans and slip on shoes. It gives that sexy action girl look, and you're not uncomfy on the plane.

I wish I could get the weekend off to come up and see you.
